Captain Terri Christie Hickman County Commission – District 4

I’m running for County Commission because county government should serve the people who live here, not just a few select insiders, not special interests, and not outside agendas. Hickman County works best when decisions are made openly, honestly, and with respect for property rights, personal liberty, and local voices.

THE PPP PLATFORM

Property Rights

Your land is not a bargaining chip. County government should protect property owners, not regulate them out of their homes or livelihoods.

Personal Liberty

People deserve the freedom to live, work, and build without unnecessary interference from an entrenched county government.

Public Accountability

Taxpayer‑funded decisions must be transparent, ethical, and made in the open. No hidden funds. No backroom deals.

WHY I’M RUNNING AS AN INDEPENDENT

For decades, many of the same commissioners in our county have run without party labels. This year, as more citizens question the status quo, some candidates have chosen to lean more heavily into partisan branding. I believe county government works best when decisions are guided by principles and accountability, not party pressure.

There is nothing conservative about heavy‑handed government, rising taxes, quiet decision‑making, or rules that seem to favor insiders. I hold conservative values rooted in limited government, fiscal responsibility, property rights, and personal freedom. At the same time, I believe those values should serve everyone who lives here, regardless of party.

Too many county decisions are made quietly, with little explanation and even less accountability. I’ve watched neighbors struggle to build on family land, pay higher taxes, and navigate rules that seem to change depending on who you know. That isn’t fair, and it isn’t good governance.

In this race, independence means answering to voters, not parties. My commitment is to provide clear information, ask the hard questions, and insist on transparency so county government works for the people who live here.
