I’m Terri Christie, and I’m running for County Mayor because county government should serve the people who live here, not a few insiders, not special interests, and not outside agendas.
Hickman County works best when leadership is transparent, accountable, and rooted in respect for property rights, personal liberty, and local voices. Decisions should be made openly and honestly, with the people affected by them fully informed and heard. That is the standard I believe our county government should meet.
The role of County Mayor is not ceremonial. It requires steady leadership, clear communication, and real preparation. When systems fail or emergencies arise, people should not be left guessing. County government must be ready, responsive, and focused on serving the public first.
I am running because I love Hickman County, I believe in its people, and I believe we can do better with practical solutions and leadership that puts citizens first.
Why Mayor. Why Now.
Recent events have shown us that preparedness, coordination, and communication matter more than ever. When leadership hesitates or systems fall short, the consequences are felt by every family, every business, and every community across our county.
Hickman County needs a County Mayor who is willing to lead, to plan ahead, and to speak plainly with the public. We need leadership that understands responsibility does not begin after a crisis, but long before one arrives.
I am running now because I believe we cannot afford to wait. We need a County Mayor who will focus on public safety, responsible management, and restoring trust through transparency and accountability. That is the work I am prepared to do.

THE PPP PLATFORM

Property Rights
Your land is not a bargaining chip. County government should protect property owners, not regulate them out of their homes or livelihoods.
Personal Liberty
People deserve the freedom to live, work, and build without unnecessary interference from an entrenched county government.
Public Accountability
Taxpayer‑funded decisions must be transparent, ethical, and made in the open. No hidden funds. No backroom deals.
WHY I’M RUNNING AS AN INDEPENDENT
Why I’m Running as an Independent
I’m running as an Independent because local leadership should stand on its own record, not cling to labels that do not match the way they have governed.
County government has an important job to do. Protect public safety. Be a careful steward of taxpayer dollars. Maintain roads and core services. Respect property rights. When government stays focused on those responsibilities, communities thrive. When it strays beyond them, families and small businesses pay the price.
Too many county decisions are made quietly while taxes rise and rules get heavier. Neighbors feel it on their land and in their day to day lives. That is not conservative leadership. That is a system protecting itself.
I believe in saying no to big government shakedowns and yes to fair, transparent local government. Limited government, fiscal responsibility, and personal freedom should guide every county decision.
Independence means answering to voters, not organizations or borrowed credibility. You should never have to plug your nose to cast a ballot. You should be able to vote for someone you trust.
That is why I am running.
