WHERE I STAND
I STAND WITH & FOR THE CITIZENS OF HICKMAN COUNTY
PROPERTY RIGHTS
& ZONING
County government should not be zoning its own citizens out of their land to benefit others. I believe in protecting property rights, reviewing restrictive regulations, and ensuring rules are applied equally and lawfully.
TAXES & BUDGET ACCOUNTABILITY
Every vote involving taxpayer dollars carries responsibility. Before asking working families to pay more, county government should fully understand existing funds, reserves, and off‑budget accounts. Transparency is not optional when public money is involved.
SCHOOLS & TRANSPARENCY
I support quality education and recognize it requires public funding. Because it is publicly funded, it must also be transparent. No taxpayer‑funded entity should accumulate large reserves while simultaneously requesting tax increases without clear explanation.
LOCAL ECONOMY & TOURISM
Hickman County has real assets that can’t be manufactured or bought with tax dollars. Our rivers, land, history, and rural character support tourism and small businesses without sacrificing who we are. Economic growth should build up locals, not price them out.
COUNTY GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY
Public service is not about comfort or connections. It’s about oversight, ethics, and doing the work in the open. I will ask questions, request records, and insist on accountability because that’s the job.
Public Safety
Public safety is the most basic responsibility of county government. When emergencies happen, whether severe weather, fires, infrastructure failures, or other crises, people deserve clear communication, dependable systems, and leadership that is ready to act.
Recent events made it clear that Hickman County must strengthen its preparedness and coordination. When communication systems fail or response is delayed, the impact is felt across every department and every community. Public safety cannot depend on luck or workarounds. It requires planning, redundancy, and accountability.
I have already spoken publicly about practical solutions because public safety is too important to treat as a campaign issue. When there are opportunities to prevent future failures or improve response, those conversations should happen immediately, not after an election. Leadership means doing what is right for the community, even when there is no personal or political credit to be gained.
As mayor, I will prioritize reliable backup communications, stronger coordination between departments, and modern tools that allow critical information to reach both first responders and the public quickly and clearly. Citizens deserve timely alerts about weather threats, road closures, and emergencies, and our responders deserve systems they can rely on when conditions are at their worst.
I believe in respecting and supporting our volunteer fire departments, law enforcement, EMS, and county employees who step up when it matters most. At the same time, leadership requires being honest about gaps and fixing them before the next emergency, not after.
Preparedness is not political. Public safety is not optional. As mayor, I will work to ensure Hickman County is ready, resilient, and informed when it matters most.
